Hafizur Rahman, son of Daud Ali of Sheikhpara village in Daulatpur upazila, was freed after his family paid the ransom through a mediator, relatives said.

The captors left Hafizur blindfolded at his village in the early hours of yesterday and informed his family over cellphone. They had kidnapped him when he was guarding his betel leaf enclosure at around 3:30am and later demanded Tk 3 lakh for his release.
