$3m Citigroup donation for tsunami victims
The Citigroup Foundation yesterday announced that it would provide 3 million US dollars for tsunami victims in South Asia, says a press release.

In addition to 3 million dollars, Marge Magner, Chairman of the Citigroup Foundation, said that the Foundation would match employee donations to legitimate non-profit or non-governmental organisations (NGOs) working in support of the South Asia tsunami relief efforts with a corresponding contribution to the Red Cross.

Of the contribution, one million dollar will be given to the Red Cross for first response measures in the region, one million dollar will be allocated to local NGOs in the affected countries to meet the most pressing needs, and one million dollar will be earmarked for rebuilding the affected communities.
