Admission tests in govt schools begin today

Admission tests for 2005 academic year in the government schools in the capital begin today, with 38,218 students vying for 8,591 seats.The Directorate of Secondary Education has been coordinating the admission procedures at the 24 schools divided into three groups -- 'Ka', 'Kha' and 'Ga'. The admission tests in schools under 'ka' group will be held today in two sessions -- from 10:00am to 11:30am for primary level students and from 2:00pm and 4:00pm for secondary level students. The institutions are Govt. Laboratory High School, Mirpur Govt. High School, Motijhil Govt. Girls' High School, Khilgaon Govt. High School, Nawabpur Govt High School, New Govt. Girls' High School, Islamia Govt High School and Mohammadpur Govt. High School. The test for 'Kha' group will be held on Tuesday. The schools under 'kha' group are Motijhil Boys' High School, Narinda Govt. High School, Govt. Muslim High School, Banglabazar Govt. Girls' High School, Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Govt. Boys' High School, Govt. Boys' School, Dhanmondi Govt. Girls' High School and Dhanmondi Kamrunnesa Govt. Girls' High School. The test for 'Ga' group will be held on January 6. The schools under 'Ga' group are Dhanmondi Govt. Boys' High School, Armanitola Govt. High School, Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Govt. Girls' School, Tikatuli Govt. Kamrunnesa Girls' High School, Tejgaon Govt. Girls' School, Dhaka Collegiate School, Gano Bhaban Govt. School and Tejgaon High School.
