Pepsi Music Mela 2004 comes to town

Festivals have many colours and distinctive characters. The festive month of December has already kicked off with theatre, film and photography festivals.

Now a long awaited music festival comes to town. The Dhaka Billiard Centre Musical Café and We Communicate will jointly organise the country's first music-fest Pepsi Music Mela--2004 from December 6 to 30. To announce this event, the organisers held a press conference on December 4 at the Dhaka Billiard Centre Music Café.

The festival will be categorised in two fragments. The first one will be launched from December 6 to 15. In this session, the participants will be the country's famous audio-visual production houses, musical instrument sellers and various media houses.

The second segment is dedicated to those who want to rock with the tunes of the celebrity musical personalities of the country. This section will start from December 17 to 30. With the participation of the popular music personalities, the cultural shows will whet the musical tastes of the music enthusiasts.

This 25-day long festival will be held at the Musical Café of Dhaka Billiard Centre. The State Minister of Culture Begum Selima Rahman will inaugurate the programme on December 6. The Daily Star, Prothom Alo and ATN Bangla are the media partners of this music carnival.
