"Take foolproof security measures in and around the National Mausoleum, Bangabandhu National Stadium, Paltan Maidan and other venues of the Victory Day celebrations across the country," said State Minister for Home Affairs Lutfozzaman Babar in a meeting with senior officials of the law-enforcing agencies at the Home Ministry yesterday.

He also asked them to control traffic during the celebrations to facilitate easy movement of the people.

Sources said uniformed as well as plainclothes police would be put up in and around the city. Besides, elite force Rapid Action Battalion will be active during the celebration.

Home Secretary Omar Faruque, Inspector General of Police, Director General of paramilitary BDR and Ansar, DMP commissioner and other concerned officials also attended the meeting.
