Over 200 houses gutted in Geneva Camp fire


Over 200 houses were gutted in a devastating fire that broke out at the Geneva Camp for the stranded Pakistanis in Golahat area of Syedpur town yesterday afternoon.

However, there were no casualties.

The houses burned down within 40 minutes after the fire started at about 5.00pm, local people said.

Firefighters from Rangpur, Nilphamari and adjoining areas brought the blaze under control.

Officials have launched an investigation to find out the cause of the fire and estimate the extent of damage.
