Brighten country's image abroad
PM urges expatriates

Prime Minister Khaleda Zia yesterday called on the expatriate Bangladeshis to work unitedly to brighten the country's image abroad and contribute to the national economy.She was talking to a delegation of non-resident Bangladeshis in the United Kingdom (UK) at the Prime Minister's office in the city. The delegation, led by UK BNP President Mohidur Rahman and Britain-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce President Sahgir Bakht Faruq, handed over a cheque for one lakh pounds sterling, equivalent to Tk 1.11 crore, to the prime minister for PM's Relief Fund. The money was collected from expatriate Bangladeshis in the UK to help the victims of recent floods. Prime Minister's Political Secretary Harris Chowdhury, Bangladesh High Commissioner to the UK AH Mofazzal Karim and High Commission Official Col. (retd.) Abdus Salam were also present.
