"Ohio has failed the world"

The following message is a response to Mr. AF Rahman's letter published on November 29, 2004:

Mr. AF Rahman, if you keep your emotions and frustrations (if there's any) aside, and look at the facts, then you would probably be disappointed and surprised to know that most Americans (including John Kerry and many of his Democrat allies) supported the war against Afghanistan and Iraq (don't try to flip flop this issue like the way Kerry did mind it my friend, both John Kerry & his (former) running mate John Edward voted for Iraq war in the Senate). Even today, majority of the Americans favour Bush on this particular issue (according to most polls leftwing or rightwing poll). So, when majority of a country is supporting (or have showed their support) to their president on this 'controversial' issue, then where did you get the idea that its forefathers would take your side and be ashamed of what their successors have done or doing to protect the country they (forefathers) once founded? Come on, couldn't you be a little bit more rational and found a better way to portray your viewpoints?

Although you have decided to go a little bit further and hurl things that didn't look that nice, I would rather keep cool and would just wonder when most of our people would respect others who might have said something that didn't match their (those who hurl abuses) viewpoints. No wonder, people don't expect to be 'respected' anymore in our country. One thing I like about the Americans is that they would never try to underestimate you or embarrass you just because they didn't like your opinion or comments on something. They would never make themselves look so cheap by trying to offend others through inappropriate slurs.

Now as I say this, I am expecting few more counterattacks and 'exile in US' sort of comments from my beloved compatriots. And finally, although it's not too important, but those who would love to bring the issue of 'Americans of origins' in order to bash others, should know the fact that real original Americans are the Red Indians who actually have no voice or role in this country of immigrants. The white people that many of you think are 'Americans of origin' have actually had their roots in Ireland, England, Scotland, Germany, Poland, Italy etc. And just like they had once chosen this country for a better life, respect and freedom, millions of people from other parts of the world have lately chosen this country for the similar cause.
