S’pore ministries to cut spending

The Singapore government has announced it will increase budget cuts for all government ministries except defence in an effort to end the budget deficit by fiscal 2005. The Ministry of Finance said in a report tabled in parliament on Wednesday that a planned budget cut for all ministries, excluding defence, of 2.0 percent next financial year would be raised to 3.0 percent.
