46 killed in 'crossfire' last month: Report

Forty-six people were killed in 'crossfire' with the law enforcement agencies in the last one month.Fourteen of them were killed by Rapid Action Battalion (Rab), according to a report of Odhikar, a human rights organisation. Of the other victims, 26 were killed under police custody and Rab and police killed four people in joint operation. In addition, 40 people were killed in political violence during the period, the report added. In another report, the Bureau of Human Rights Bangladesh said a total of 314 people were killed across the country last month. Also, a total of 403 children fell victim to violence last month, said a report of the Bangladesh Shishu Adhikar Forum (BSAF). Of them, 18 children were murdered, 111 were tortured and 81 died unnatural death. Ten children, including six girls, were abducted and 27 were raped, the report added.
