Several hundred freedom fighters took part in the programmes that included a colourful rally and a discussion meeting. The progra-mme began with hoisting of the National Flag on the premises of Muktijoddha Sangsad office in the town.

They marched Manikganj town streets on tune of bands and later held a discussion meeting at Sabis Auditorium with freedom fighter and Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD-Inu) leader Delwar Hossain Harej in the chair.

Among others, freedom fighter and Awami League (AL) leader Moslem Uddin Khan Habu Mia, AL district unit president Golam Mohiuddin, its secretary Gazi Kamrul Huda Selim and party leaders Abdul Mojid Photo, Dipak Ghosh; JSD-Inu central Joint Secretary Iqbal Hossain Khan, its central member Afjal Hossain Khan Joki, Mainikganj district unit president Abdus Salam Bulu and JSD leaders Moslem Uddin Khan; CPB leaders Mizanur Rahman Hazrat and Principal Azharul Islam Arzu, Muktijodha Sangsad leaders Golam Mohier Khan Shepar and Momin Uddin spoke at the discussion meeting.

The speakers demanded of the government to fulfil their 26-point demand.
