Amanullah gets Atish Dipankar Award
M Amanullah, chairman of the Audit Committee and sponsor director of Mercantile Bank Ltd., was awarded Atish Dipankar Scholar Congress Award for his outstanding contribution to the banking sector, says a press release. President Iajuddin Ahmed handed over the award to him recently. A distinguished industrialist and entrepreneur, Amanullah was also awarded Sarojini Naidu Gold Medal in 2000 for his contribution to the banking and insurance sector. Chairman of Aman Group of Companies, Mousumi Enterprises Ltd., Arena HRI Ltd., Arena Industries Ltd., and Arena Infotech Ltd, he is also an advisor to Global Insurance Ltd. and a director of Desh General Insurance Ltd. Amanullah has also significant contribution to the field of education. He is a member of the Governing Board of the Presidency University and director of the Institute of Business & Technology (IBIT) and Metropolitan University.
