Question leakage
MBBS result in Barisal withheld

Publication of final year MBBS examination results of Barisal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College (BSBMC) has been withheld due to alleged question leakage.

BSBMC sources said the results were scheduled to be published on November 25. A total of 124 examinees from BSBMC took part in the final year MBBS examinations, held under Dhaka University (DU).

When contacted, BSBMC Principal Dr Abdul Barek acknowledged that publication results of the examinees have been postponed.

The Dhaka University authorities did not give any written explanations in this regard, he said.

When contacted over telephone, sources at the DU examination department said results of BSBMC examinees have been withheld due to alleged leakage of question paper during examination.

Dr Barek said a "satisfactory explanation" will be given in this connection to resolve the problem soon.

Sheikh Mustafa, Vice-president of BSBMC Students Union said postponement of all the results was illogical. He said question of only one paper was leaked and examination of that paper was taken afresh.

So there is no scope to postpone results of all the examinations, he added.

Mentionably, examination of Second Paper Medicine, held at BSBMC on September 20, was cancelled by DU after leakage of question. The examination was taken later under a fresh question paper.
