BIWTA offers 10pc discount on launch fare

Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) has offered 10 percent discount on the fare for the homebound people to southern districts ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr. BIWTA leaders announced this when they called on Shipping Minister Lt Colonel (Retd) Akbar Hossain at his office yesterday. The leaders said that discount on Dhaka-Barisal, Dhaka-Patuakhali, Dhaka-Barguna and Dhaka-Hularhat routes would be more than 10 percent. The minister lauded the launch owners for their discount offer and asked them to avoid overloading of their vessels during Eid holidays.
