Destruction of crops protested
National Adibasi Council, Joypurhat protested the atrocities committed on indigenous people (aborigines) at Gangrail village in Sadar upazila recently, says a press release.A meeting was held at Shan-tinagar with council chairman Advocate Babul Rabidas in the chair. The meeting demanded of the administration security of life and property of 'Adibasis', the most vulnerable section of society. A band of unidentified criminals destroyed crops worth about Tk 40,000 on more than three acres of land in the aforesaid village under cover of night. A GD was lodged with Joypurhat Thana in this regard.
