Aman harvest begins in Gaibandha

After ravaging floods, farmers in some areas are happy at least for the time being. They are harvesting Aman paddy. But the scene is different in low-lying areas of the district where many farmers could not transplant Aman seedlings because the water remained stagnant and the sowing time was over. A monga situation is prevailing in those areas. Gaibandha Deputy Commissioner Tapan Cahndra Majumder inaugurated Aman harvest at Fulbari village in the Sadar upazila on Monday by cutting paddy himself.
