JICF awards scholarships to 20 DU students

Japan International Co-operation Foundation (JICF) yesterday awarded scholarships to 20 first year students of Dhaka University (DU) for their outstanding academic results.The scholarships were awarded at a function at the administrative building of the university with Vice-chancellor Prof SMA Faiz in the chair. The scholarships are awarded for four years at the rate of Tk 36,400 a year. The VC advised the students to make best use of them to acquire further knowledge in their respective fields. Japanese Ambassador Matsushiro Horiguchi hoped that the scholarships would enable the students to contribute to the future development of the country.
