More Volvo buses for BRTC: Huda

Communications Minister Nazmul Huda has said more Volvo buses will be added to the fleet of Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTC) to ease the movement of commuters.

He said this at a meeting with the delegation of Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA) on the purchase of 95 Volvo buses at the ministry yesterday.

The team was led by Swedish Ambassador in Dhaka Borje Mattsson, said a press release.

Huda said separate dedicated bus lanes will be constructed for easy movement of Volvo and CNG-run modern buses under a World Bank-financed project.

The SIDA delegation lauded the introduction of ten Volvo buses for women in the city.

They said the SIDA will provide technical training assistance for female drivers.
