'Bangladesh: Anatomy of Change' launched

The publication ceremony of a book titled 'Bangladesh: Anatomy of Change' written by Abdul Awal Mintoo, president of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI), was held at a city hotel yesterday.

Speakers at the function said the book is a pathfinder for the nation.

They said the author has focussed on many problems facing the country and tried to give their solutions.

The book has also provided guidelines on how the nation can achieve a better future in a highly competitive global environment, they added.

"I have tried to present the issues that Bangladesh must consider for future economic development," said Mintoo.

"All my suggestions are derived from my practical experience over the last 20 years," he added.

"There is no single prescription for resolving all social and economic problems, but this is the first book that has tried to give solutions to all types of problems," said Prof Abdullah Abu Sayeed, chairman of Bishwasahitya Kendra.

Presided over by former advisor of the caretaker government Kazi Fazlur Rahman, the function was also addressed by Prof Mozaffar Ahmed of Dhaka University, Country Director of Research and Development Centre Forest Cookson, Managing Director of the University Press Limited Mohiuddin Ahmed and publisher of the book Abu Hena MP.
