Founder of the only music college in the country, Barin Majumdar received many awards including Independence Day Award (posthumously), Ekushey Padak, Kazi Mahbubullah Gold Medal, Rabindra Padak, Sidhu Bhai Memorial Award and Shilpakala Academy Award for his valuable contribution to the field of music.
