Sabina, who sustained serious burn injuries in an acid attack at her house in Phutiarchar under Dhamrai upazila on the night of September 23, is fighting for life at Dhaka Medical College Hospital. She was rushed to Islampur Health Complex in an unconscious state from where she was shifted to DMCH. A gang of four miscreants led by Abdul Majid threw acid on Sabina, a daughter of one Misri Khan. The other members of the gang are Ali, Hashem and Suruj. Police could not arrest any one till now. Sources said the acid was thrown in retaliation of a case that Misri Khan filed against Swapon, son of Abdul Majid, along with Ali, Hashem and Suruj for trying to abduct and rape her daughter on February 22. Locals say the accused are moving in the locality in broad daylight and threatening them with dire consequences if the case is not withdrawn immediately. "I have two more daughters and I don't know whether they will be able to live a normal life," said Misri in a grief-stricken voice. "We don't want to see the burnt face of our sister, Give her back a normal life," said Tara Akter, elder sister of Sabina in an emotion-choked voice.
