Grenade Attack
One more suspect held, remanded for 5 days

The Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) court, Dhaka put Mohammad Waliullah alias Walin on a five-day remand after his arrest from the Fulbaria Railway Colony on suspicion of his involvement with the grenade attacks on the August 21 Awami League (AL) rally.

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) produced Walin, 20, son of a toilet-owner in Fulbaria Super Market, before the CMM Court, Dhaka with a seven-day remand prayer yesterday.

The investigation officer (IO) said in his forwarding report that he had earlier arrested Abdur Rahim and took him on a five-day remand who disclosed Walin's name during interrogation.

Rahim, caretaker of the toilet said Walin was in charge of the toilet from noon that day and a grenade was seized from the toilet the next day.

'After the August 21 grenade attack in which 20 people were killed and over 200 injured, the market was closed and the attackers stayed at the toilet for sometime,' the IO said suggesting Walin's involvement.

'So he needs to be interrogated to find out the whereabouts of his accomplices,' the IO told the court.

Earlier, Saibal Saha Partha, Abdur Rahman, Habib alias Hannan and Badsha Miah were shown arrested in the August 21 grenade attack case filed by the police on August 22.
