Hostage-taking is increasing, specially in the war-scarred areas. The latest Beslan tragedy is a case in point . The whole world became benumbed with horror when an extremist group took more than a thousand people, mostly children, hostage for pressing home their demand. This hostage-taking was a tactic for the insurgents to meet their demands. The innocent children in that school of Beslan were the victims of this barbaric act. The world must find a way out of this.
