A team of Dumuria police, led by Superintendent of Police (SP) Habibur Rahman, found a sack packed with a polythene bag at Ghengrail Char in Shovna Union.

They opened the bag and found one small carbine machinegun, one rifle, 17 foreign pistols with 16 silencer pipes, one nine shooter gun, one .22 bore rifle, two six-shooter guns and 114 bullets.

The SP told newsmen that underground operatives belonging to Purba Banglar Communist Party (Mrinal group) might have abandoned the cache sensing the presence of police.
