Bomb hoax at CU

A bomb hoax panicked teachers, students and officials of Chittagong University (CU) on Thursday.

All left their classes and offices when an anonymous caller identifying himself as a member of 'Mujahedin group' informed that a number of bombs were planted on the campus.

"A person called me at around 10:30pm and warned that some bombs were planted at different buildings and those will explode within 8 to 10 minutes," said Md. Harunur Rashid, Deputy Registrar at the Vice Chancellor's office.

Being informed, a police team led by ASP Hasib Aziz rushed and searched all buildings including the administrative building and the nine students' dormitories with metal detectors. But nothing was found in the three- hour search.
