"It'll be a perfect marriage as I love fielding and being in India," the ace fielder said after unveiling a trophy in New Delhi to be presented to the ICC Cricketer of the Year in England next week.

"I'll be happy to be here and impart some of the fielding wisdom I got in South Africa. It's great to convert non-athletes into athletes."

Rhodes, known for his acrobatic fielding and spectacular catching, was all praise for Indian fielders Yuvraj Singh, Mohammad Kaif and Sachin Tendulkar.

"Yuvraj and Kaif are fantastic fielders. Tendulkar is superb in the deep. Whatever they do on the field inspires youngsters," the 35-year-old told the Press Trust of India news agency.

Rhodes retired from international cricket after the 2003 World Cup in South Africa with a record of 2,532 runs in 52 Tests and 5,935 in 245 one-dayers.

"Our philosophy has always been that even a single run can make the difference between winning and losing," said Rhodes, who also represented his country at field hockey.

"We crashed out of the 1999 and 2003 World Cups by just one run. So the philosophy is simple, save as many runs as possible. You have to love fielding and must like the ball to come to you every time the batsman plays it."
