Manzoorul Karim made Brac ombudsperson

Former secretary Manzoorul Karim was made ombudsperson of the Bangladesh Rural Advancement Committee (Brac), a leading NGO, yesterday. Karim took over the charge as the first official ombudsperson yesterday for three years. The Brac governing body created the post of ombudsperson to strengthen its internal mechanism and improve its overall governance performance, says a press release. The ombudsperson has been given a comprehensive mandate to investigate any incidents of maladministration and misuse of power within the Brac.
