Govt firm to maintain communal harmony

President Iajuddin Ahmed yesterday reiterated the government's determination to maintain communal harmony at any cost and urged all, irrespective of caste and creed, to work together for building the nation.

His remarks came when a 36-member delegation of Bangladesh Hindu Buddha and Christian Welfare Front called on him at Bangabhaban.

The delegation members, led by its Convener State Minister for Water Resources Advocate Goutam Chakravarty, said Bangladesh is a land of communal harmony where people of all religious faiths have been living together peacefully over thousands of years.
