Abahani Krira Chakra clinched the women's team title of the Global Insurance open table tennis competition when they blanked Bangla-desh Biman 3-0 in the final at the Woodenfloor Gymnasium yesterday.

Soma set Abahani on the right track with a straight-sets win against Rumi, 11-5, 11-7, 11-7. Saleha then beat Joyti 11-7, 11-7, 9-11, 11-6 before completing the Biman whitewash by wining doubles with Tumpa.

Narail won the boys' team event title with a 3-1 victory over Swamibagh Boys.

Rocky won the first set for Narail against Rana 12-10, 8-11, 11-6, 13-11. Helal extended the lead defeating Hasib 11-8, 8-11, 11-5, 7-11, 11-6. But he had to return to win the fourth game against Rana after Shovon brought Shamibagh back in contention winning the third set.

The men's, women's and boys' singles finals take place today, the final day of the three-day meet.
