What about A cricket team
Sports Reporter
The scheduled Bangladesh A team's tour of Australia later this month still remained on the drawing board as the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) was yet to finalise the trip details. The BCB placed the tour in its ambitious High Performance programme that they set out in June, but since then the Board remained unwittingly unaware of its second string side. Interestingly the Board, until now, did not even form a preliminary side to prepare for the proposed tour. When asked about the fate of the tour, BCB's cricket committee chairman Mahbubul Anam was quick to say that they were thinking to defer the trip because of a busy age-group schedule at home. "Sri Lanka cricket academy team will arrive here in October and two Indian age-group sides are also due here in the next two months and that's why we are thinking to reschedule the A team's trip," said Mahbub. But when asked why he was relating the A team's programme with that of the age groups, he failed to provide a satisfactory answer. It has been quite sometime that the Board has shown apathetic attitude in forming an A team, which is the main source of back-ups for every other Test playing nation. Mahbub however said that he would discuss the matter with Australian coach Richard McInnes, who is in charge of the High Performance unit.
