Judicial body looks into AL's rally permission

The judicial commission formed to probe the August 21 carnage asked Dhaka City Corporation (DCC) yesterday to inform it whether the Awami League (AL) had a permission to hold a rally on Bangabandhu Avenue.A source said the commission has sent a letter to the DCC to this end. The commission also sent a letter to the commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) yesterday, asking him to provide the commission with all documents regarding the grenade attacks case including copies of FIR (first information report) and forensic reports of the victims. The commission also sought for the number of forces including detectives deployed at the meeting venue to ensure security, the source added. Besides, Justice Md Joynul Abedin, head of the commission, visited National Institute of Traumatology & Orthopaedic Rehabilitation (Nitor) and Rajarbagh Police Hospital yesterday evening. He interviewed some wounded policemen and witnesses there.
