The incident naturally gave rise to a lot of emotional speculations about who could be responsible for the dastardly act and why and also about the palpable failure of the intelligence agencies and the police to prevent the attack and detect the wrong doers.

While keeping my remarks confined to Shahedul Anam's article, I would like to say that he has well delineated the dimensions of the cruel incident which can give a practical guideline for investigation to detect the motive, the preparation, the procurement of the weapons of offense, the detailed planning for their use and the ultimate execution of the plan and successful escape from the scene.
