Prof Salam made chairman of DU journalism deptt

Professor Dr Sheikh Abdus Salam was made chairperson of the Department of Mass Communi-cation and Journalism of Dhaka University (DU) yesterday for three years. He will join his new post today. Dr Salam was due to be made chairperson of the department two years ago, but owing to an allegation brought against him by a student of the department, the university authorities did not make him the chairperson. Later the allegation proved false.
