'Ekush' presented to president

Chief Executive Osman Murad and Head of Corporate Affairs of Standard Chartered Bank Mohammad Badrul Ahsan called on President Iajuddin Ahmed at Bangabhaban yesterday and presented him with a pictorial documentary book on Ekushey February titled "Ekush".The book contained rare photographs (1947-1956) of the Historic Language Movement with an introduction of the brief history of the movement by Prof Rafiqul Islam and messages from President Iajuddin Ahmed and language movement veterans Abdul Matin and Gaziul Haq. The book is written by CM Tarek Reza and published by Standard Chartered Bank, Bangladesh. Iajuddin appreciated the publication of the book "Ekush" and expressed his satisfaction at the role of the bank in social activities particularly in the field of health and sports and urban beautification. Osman Murad thanked the president for his support and encouragement in the publication. He sought the cooperation of the president in their future endeavour in social and educational activities.
