779 were murdered last month
BSEHR report says


Around 25 people were killed daily while a total of 779 murdered in last month throughout the country, said a report of Bangladesh Society for the Enforcement of Human Rights (BSEHR) yesterday.

The report, based on the stories published in different dailies, revealed that of them, 140 were killed in social violence, 82 in political clash, 24 in police custody and four in Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) custody.

Besides, a total of 68 children and women were raped during the period, it added.

Meanwhile, Mass-Line Media Centre (MMC) has reported 267 killing incidents while the Bureau of Human Rights Bangladesh (BHRB) reported 330 killings in last month.

Bangladesh Institute of Human Rights (BIHR) reported that 352 people were tortured by the law enforcement agencies and out of them 28 died due to the torture.

Most of the victims were leaders and activists of different political parties. Thirty-three journalists were also tortured by them, it added.

Bangladesh Shishu Adhikar Forum said there were 475 incidents of child rights violation in last month. Of them, 83 children faced unnatural death, it added.
