Autorickshaws off Rangamati roads

Autorikshaws are off the roads in the hill town as their drivers began an indefinite strike Monday in protest against attack on some of them by indigenous college students.

Six drivers were injured, two of them seriously.

Azhar and Siraj were admitted to Rangamati General Hospital with stab injuries and then shifted to Chittagong Medical Collage Hospital.

Of the rest injured, Mohammed Monjur, 20 and Sumon Chakma, 16 are undergoing treatment at Rangamati General Hospital.

The rampage by the indigenous students began after Sanjoy Chakma, a student, was assaulted by JCD (Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal) activist Hasan on Government College ground.
