The family of Shahjahan, 35 and allegedly a Phensidyl trader, said his friend Mizan called him out of their house at 203, Old Bazaar in Cantonment at around 7:30pm and took him to Kuwait Maitree Hospital on Isa Khan Avenue in Uttara Sector-6.

Locals said the two had a heated argument there at 8:30pm and at one point, the man talking with Shajahan -- allegedly Mizan -- shot him thrice in the chest.

The police took Shajahan's body to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for autopsy.

Shajahan's wife told them Mizan owed her husband Tk 30,000 and he might have killed him following arguments over payment of the debt.
