Bashantek Project
JS body asks people not to buy flats
Staff Correspondent
A parliamentary standing committee yesterday asked all concerned not to subscribe application forms floated by the NSPDL for allotment of flats at the government initiated Bashantek rehabilitation programme for floating and low-income group people. The NSPDL (North South Property Development Limited), the project implementation company, has started selling forms through different banks 'illegally and without permission from the government', Parliamentary Standing Committee on Ministry of Land said in a statement. The committee also asked land ministry officials to take necessary legal steps against the company immediately, the statement added. It also urged people to refrain from going into any financial transaction with the NSPDL regarding allotment of flats until the ministry gives prior permission. Mahbubur Rahman, standing committee chairman, earlier sent a letter to the land secretary seeking immediate steps, it added.
