Idul placed on 10-day remand

Shahidul Islam Idul, a dreaded criminal, was placed on a 10-day remand in connection with Tofazzal murder case yesterday.

He was shown arrested in the murder case following a petition by the investigation officer who prayed for the remand.

In his petition, the investigation officer said a gang of armed men led by Idul and his brother Millat attacked the sweepers' colony in Gopibagh area on April 15 as the residents protested their activities. Tofazzal, 30, was killed in the attack.
