Four muggers stopped Abul Khayer Bablu, commissioner of ward No. 49, near Dhanmondi Lake during his morning-walk at around 5:15am and asked for his gold chain and cell phone.

Refused, the muggers stabbed him in his neck and hands. Bablu suffered minor injuries and is receiving treatment at a local clinic.
