Trader shot dead


Unknown assailants shot dead a trader in the old part of the city yesterday.

Police identified the victim as Bashir, 35, a polythene trader living at Urdu Road in Lalbagh.

Witnesses said a gang of three took Bashir to a garment factory at Becharam Dewri at around 5:30pm, and shot him in the chest, arm and leg.

Locals rushed Bashir to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where the doctors declared him dead.

The inquest report said the killers sprayed six bullets on him.

Police failed to arrest anyone till filing of this report at 9:00 last night.
