Surjodoy lift Tibet h'ball crown

Surjodoy Krira Chakra emerged unbeaten champions in the Tibet Metropolis First Division Handball League beating Orient Sporting Club 22-21 in a nerve-biting last super four match at the Outer Stadium handball court yesterday. Despite the day's defeat, Orient SC finished runners-up to earn promotion to play in the premier division league from next season along with newly crowned Surjodoy. Mohammad Sunny of Orient SC was adjudged best player of the league. In the day's last league match, Surjodoy trailed by 7-8 in the first half. Farid scored 10, Khokon 4, Ronny and Badsha 3 each for the winners while Khaleq netted 9 and Sunny 5 for the losers. Earlier in the day's first match, Mansoor Sporting Club managed hard-fought 7-6 victory over Satirtho Club after leading the first half by 5-0 at the same venue this afternoon. Chan Miah contributed 4, Rabiul 3 for the winners while Ratan made 3, Hasnat 2 for the losers.
