The US envoy's meddling in each and every local affair is becoming an interference in our internal affairs, right from his joining his post in Dhaka not too long ago. I am neither a politician nor an authority to comment on the periphery and jurisdiction of an ambassador and the extent to which a foreign diplomat can go in talking about internal affairs of a country. His (Harry K Thomas Jr.) comments on arrest of Bangla Bhai or warning in respect of trade unionism at the EPZs appear to be a violation of diplomatic norms.
