Correction
The Daily Star news headlined "Govt ditches plan to rein in unruly bank unionists" yesterday inadvertently mentioned a maximum three-year jail term with Tk 1 lakh penalty if a trade union activist is found guilty, according to an amendment proposal for the Bank Company Act. It should read maximum two-year jail and a penalty of Tk 20,000. This rule exists in the Act, although not to specifically deal with unruly trade union activists. We regret the error.
