Rajshahi Textile Mills resumes operation

After a year, Rajshahi Textile Mills resumed operation yesterday on the basis of 'income based expenses' to avert losses.The state-owned enterprise (SoE) under the Bangladesh Textile Mills Corporation (BTMC) was closed on June 30 last year with a staggering Tk 56 crore loss due to mismanagement. Mahbubul Alam, deputy general manager of Rajshahi Textile Mills, told reporters that the mill would go on full production from August 31. The spinning mill is expected to fetch a profit of Tk 12 lakh per year.
