Four aides of Pichchi Hannan Remanded

A Dhaka court yesterday placed four accomplices of dreaded criminal 'Pichchi' Hannan who were arrested in Uttara on a 21-day remand in three cases.

Uttara police produced Babul Mian, Mostafizur Rahman, Rafiqul Islam Tuku and Motaleb before the Court of Chief Metropolitan Magistrate at around 3:30pm with a prayer for 30 days' remand, 10 days for each case. However, the court granted 21 days' remand for each.

The arrestees were remanded for 10 days in arms case, six days for drug possession and five days for assault on police.

The hearing on 10-day remand sought for 'Pichchi' Hannan was not held yesterday as he was not produced before the court due to his illness.

He will be taken on remand subject to his recovery from a bullet wound that he sustained during the Friday's shootout between his gang and elite Rab (Rapid Action Batalion) forces.
