Death threat
36 Commissioners want Sylhet Mayor's security

Thirty-six ward commissioners of Sylhet City Corporation (SCC) in a joint press statement on Monday demanded adequate security to city Mayor Badaruddin Ahmed Kamran.

They expressed their grave concern at the death threat given to him. They deplored local administration's indifference in providing proper security measures to protect mayor and other peoples' representatives including ward commissioners.

'The administration did not pay heed to the death threat given to the Mayor on Monday afternoon,' the signatories said.

In a separate statement, 12 former ward commissioners of Sylhet Pourashava vehently condemned the death threat given to the Mayor.
