Bangladesh Federation of Film Societies (BFFS) announced this at a press conference at Dhaka Reporters Unity office in the city yesterday.

With the slogan "Film for World Peace" a total of 70 films of about 30 countries will be screened at the National Museum, Public Library and some other selected cinema halls. The film festival will continue till December 10, says a press release.

A total of 17 organisations of directors, artistes, producers and exhibitors will jointly organise the festival.

Noted film director Chashi Nazrul Islam was made chairman and Morshedul Islam director of the festival organising committee.

Chasi Nazrul said that the festival would help rich the movement for healthy films in the country.

Filmmaker Morshedul Islam said the festival has been arranged as part of the continuation of creating healthy film culture in the country.

BFFS President Sadeq Khan, Film Directors Association General Secretary Sohanur Rahman Sohanand and Film Artistes Association President Ahmed Sharif also spoke.
