Bangladesh U-17take on Uzbeks in the opener

Bangladesh youth team will open their Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Under-17 Championship campaign against Uzbekistan on September 5.The 16-team final round of the juvenile competition will be held in Japan from September 4-18. The Bangladesh U-17s are now preparing under the supervision of Shahidur Rahman Shantoo, who was instrumental in guiding them past the first round barrier last October in Dhaka. Placed in Group D, Bangladesh will take on Qatar on September 7 and play their last group match against Iraq on September 9. Shantoo's boys are expected to fly for Thailand on July 20 to play four practice matches against local selections.
