Kiwis due on October 11

New Zealand will arrive in Dhaka on October 11 for their first full series in Bangladesh, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) confirmed yesterday.

The Kiwis will open their tour with a three-day practice match at the Fatullah Cricket Stadium from October 14-16.

The visitors will play two Tests and three one-day internationals.

The BCB is looking forward to introduce a new Test venue during the four-week trip of the Kiwis.

The Board is keen to host the second Test match at the newly built Chittagong Divisional Stadium instead of MA Aziz Stadium, the second Test venue of the country. Everything, however, will depend on the approval an ICC inspection team, which is expected to arrive in September to inspect three venues in Chittagong, Khulna and Bogra that hosted games during the ICC U-19 World Cup early this year.

The Tiger, who left for Colombo yesterday to feature in the Asia Cup, have a busy international commitment at home with Sri Lanka, India and Zimbabwe to visit after New Zealand.
